Seattle

Today we headed up to Seattle to take in the sights. Our first stop was the Crab Pot restaurant on the water. Des and I have been there a few times before, but it was a first for Scott. We always order the "Seafest" which is a unique experience. They literally dump your meal right on the table, no plates, no utensils, just some butcher paper, a mallet and a wooded board. You then dig in. There is potatoes, sausage, corn on the cob, mussels, oysters, shrimp in the shell, snow crab and dungeness crab legs. Aside from the corn potatoes and sausage, you have to work to get at your food. You have to rip the heads off the shrimp, peel the legs off, crack the crab legs open, etc. This was a bit much for Scott and decidedly NOT his favorite restaurant in the world. You can click HERE to see a photo of the Seafest and read more about the restaurant.

From there, we headed to Pike Place Market and wandered for a while. There are always gorgeous flowers and fun art work to take in while visiting the market. We watch a few flying fish while there too.

Then it was up to Kerry Park for an overview of the city. Many of the skyline photos of Seattle are taken from this park.

Off to see Safeco Field where the Mariners play. We decided not to go to a game since their season hasn't been the greatest and all of the games we could go to started at 7pm. Another reminder that we are in a new phase of life. We normally would have loved to take in an evening game, but decided it would be too much for our little one.

One last stop to get some of the BEST cookies ever made, Cow Chips. YUMMY! Once I had the cookies, we were ready to call it a day.

Jaelyn did fantastically well today. She slept through some of the market and through most of the ride home. We're so proud of our little traveler.
