I knew today was going to be a warm day, so this morning, I filled up Jaelyn's pool and set it in the sun to warm up a bit. Jaelyn had a great time playing with the hose and helping me fill the pool.
After nap and lunch, we came back out to play. I brought out a chair along with a few odds and ends in a basket. These included sun screen, her hat, water, a towel, and of course, my camera. :) We pulled out all kinds of toys for her to play with in the water. Here she is testing it out to see if it's warm enough.
As she was doing this, I realized the slide had some spider webs on it, since we keep it outside. I pulled it out of the pool and to the side so I could spray it off with the hose. While I was doing this, Jaelyn was pulling toys out of the pool and throwing them back in to see how they splash.
She had been doing this for a while so I didn't think much of it, until I turned around and saw that she had begun to throw more than just her toys in the pool. She felt my toys needed a turn as well...
When I turned around, I saw my camera, sitting at the bottom of Jaelyn's pool, with little bubbles floating to the surface. My heart just sank, probably faster than the camera did. I had moved the camera to the pocket of the chair, but my wonderfully curious little one was able to get into the pocket and pull out the camera.
Thankfully, I was able to save the pictures on the memory card, but the camera itself is kaput. It will turn on, but all we see is black. So, it's good for taking pictures in the dark, with no flash. Unfortunately, there isn't much of a market for all black photos. So......here is the very last image my camera captured. No, it isn't a flattering photo of my baby, but for now, it's the last one I got.
