What's in a Name?

Bath Time

Many have asked where we got the name Jaelyn Elyse. I thought I'd answer that question here. I know some are disappointed we didn't stick with Uma, but we felt Jaelyn was a kinder name. :)

Jaelyn became a consideration after hearing my mom talking about her friend's daughter with the same name. She spelled it differently, but we really liked it. It was something different, but not too 'crazy'.

Elyse was the easier name to choose. Actually, there was no choosing to be done. I've known for years, that the middle name of my first daughter would be Elyse, named for my dear friend, Desiree Elyse. It was a fun surprise for Des when I got to 'introduce' her to Jaelyn Elyse over the phone. :)

We are home and getting settled. Life has changed drastically in the last 10 days and we love it. We're working on getting some rest when Jaelyn is resting, though that's not always easy. Scott and I love watching her. Seeing some familiar faces that she makes and learning to identify her whimpers and cries. She is a joy to have around and we are totally, head over heels, in love.

Great Grand Mother Jeannie said to tell You "We are putting a card in the mail tomorrow (Mar 27)".

I am happy you did not keep the name of UMA.

Now Scott can get into MARCH MADDNESS....
