For Halloween, our church rented out the Civic Center and hosted a huge party for the city. We had over 100 games, bounce houses, puppets, and a continual ministry program going on. It was a blast! There were several thousand people who came to the event.
Grandma Annie and Grandpa Steve joined Jaelyn and I as we walked around and played games. Scott was working one of the games. It took Jaelyn quite a while to get used to the idea of playing games for candy, but once she got comfortable, there was no stopping her! She LOVED it!!!
Here are some of my favorites from the night:
As Jaelyn and I were getting ready to go, she wanted to go into the room where they were doing the music and dance programs. We sat in the back row and she stood on her chair, staring wide eye at the happenings on stage. She LOVED it! After a few songs, two people came up to tell the story of Noah's Ark. They asked for some volunteers and though I thought there would be no way Jaelyn would agree, I asked her if she wanted to go up there. She did! She got to be a 'skunk' for the reenactment. She walked right up there like a pro and never once needed to be near me. I was so proud of her!
Of course, when the 'birds' were sent off the ark to check and see if there was dry land, there went my little skunk, flapping her 'wings' right along with them!
After she came off the stage, she had a bit of a meltdown because she couldn't go back on stage with the rest of the group and dance. Maybe we have a future Ministry Team member on our hands!
