Whirlwind of a Weekend

What a great weekend we had.

On Thursday evening, Desiree Elyse flew out to celebrate Jaelyn Elyse's birthday with us. It was a wonderful time seeing her and Jaelyn bond and spend time together throughout the weekend. There were even times, Jaelyn didn't want to come by me, just wanted to be by Auntie Desiree.

On Friday, Jaelyn turned one. When Scott dropped her off at daycare, Katy had the place decorated for Jaelyn, along with a few balloons for her. Jaelyn LOVES balloons, so that was perfect.

Friday afternoon, my family arrived from Green Bay. Jaelyn was excited to see her Grandma Tracy, Grandpa Jim, and Auntie Amy.

They spent time together playing and being silly. Friday night, we celebrated Amy's birthday. That's right, Jaelyn and her Auntie Amy share the same birthday. We had a DQ ice cream cake for Amy, that had lots of gel frosting.

On Saturday, we had all of Scott's family come over as well, to celebrate Jaelyn. All of her aunts and uncles, grandparents, and even great-grandma Ruth were here to celebrate our little one. She did a fantastic job with 11 extra people in the house. We opened gifts and let Jaelyn dig into her own Elmo cake. (I made it myself with a little help on the eyes from Des.)
Opening a gift from her BFF, Sophie.
My attempt at an Elmo cake for Jaelyn.
The Sam's Club cake we bought for the adults.
"Is the party done? I'm tired Mom!"
The rest of the weekend went well. Everyone had a nice time. My family left on Sunday afternoon, and Des flew out Monday evening. We loved having everyone around to share in the joy of our precious one.

Sounds like Jaelyn had a great time on her first brthday. Gram Jeannie would have loved to be there. However, I feel my traveling days are over.. Let's face it I am getting old.

Gram Jeannie say she feel like she is being left out, since you are so far away.
