Birthday Celebration #2

This weekend, we had a full house to celebrate Jaelyn's birthday. My mom and dad came in yesterday. On the way through the Cities, they picked up Des at the airport and brought her along. Mom and Des were a great help in getting the house and the food ready for the party.

Saturday morning, I focused on getting Jaelyn's cake ready for the party. Jaelyn was only too happy to help taste the frosting. :) She approved.
Jaelyn decided she wanted a Hello Kitty. I'm not sure where she got the idea, but I was happy to create a cake with four colors versus 11 or 12 for the Dora cake she was considering. :) Here is the finished product. While I was working on the cake, Jaelyn and Auntie Des were in charge of making the peanut butter balls. It was a fun and messy project for Jaelyn to be a part of. The end results were a bit lopsided, but they were made with love and tasted great! The grandmas chatting. Grandpa Steve and Papa were playing princesses with Jaelyn. Auntie Des was persuaded to play princesses too!

We tried to get a cousins picture, but neither Jaelyn nor Owen were very interested. Jaelyn and Auntie Laura were having a little heart to heart.

Uncle JB, Auntie Angie, Uncle Eric, and Grandma Ruth were also at our house to celebrate Jaelyn. Unfortunately, I didn't do a great job with photos at this party. Sorry guys! I'll do better in the years to come. We were so blessed to have you there!

Princess Jaelyn, I am sad that I missed your big party but I am glad that I was able to wake up & spend our birthday morning together playing hide & go seek & tag. I love you Jaelyn Elyse, you are by far the best birthday present I have ever recieved! Mommy did a GREAT job on your Hello Kitty cake! I bet it was delicious :)
