Monday, I tried to get Jaelyn to give up her Nuk. What a train wreck that was! Wednesday, Jaelyn had her first nap time at Beth's house. Beth tried to get Jaelyn to nap without her Nuk, but to no avail.
Wednesday night, out of the blue, Jaelyn said that she didn't need her nukie and she wanted to throw it away. I actually tried to talk her out of it, but she was insistent. So, I enlisted the help of her stuffed friend "Leo the Lion." He let Jaelyn know that he was so happy for her and was so proud of her. He also offered to give Jaelyn big hugs whenever she felt she needed her nuk. We also talked about thinking happy thoughts for the night. She shared some of her happy thoughts and I gave her a few to think of.
I left her room and waited for the wailing to start. I was pleasantly surprised that no sound came from her room. She made it through the night with NO NUK!!!
It's been three days with no nuk during her nap times or night times. We are so proud of our big girl!
