When I was in college in the Cities, my friends and I went out to the Holidazzle parade a few years. It was always a blast to go up to the 8th floor of Macy's to see the animated village and then head out into the cold to watch the lighted floats parade down Nicollett Mall.
Today, we took Jaelyn to experience it all. We got into line to head up to the 8th floor and the security guard told us it would be an hour and a half and we probably wouldn't make it to the parade. We decided to wait it out for a little bit, and we're so glad we did. It only took us about 35 minutes to get to the village.
The theme this year is "A Day in the Life of an Elf". There was so much to see throughout the 'village'. Jaelyn didn't always know where to look and what to focus on, but she really enjoyed seeing the elves move, the dancing animals, and the flying reindeer. :)
Visiting Santa's Workshop.
After a quick bite to eat, we bundled up and headed outside to see the parade. It was only 30 minutes long, and tonight was one of the warmer days we've had, so it was bearable. Scott held Jaelyn through the parade and got her a prime spot to see the lighted floats as they rolled by. She enjoyed the lights, and LOVED seeing Santa at the end of the parade.
There were a gazillion people there and it was a tad hectic, but we were glad to battle the crowds in order to see Jaelyn so excited. :)
