When Scott and I were engaged, we embarked on an incredibly long journey to Northern Wisconsin to go camping. We'd made that journey before, but this time we decided to take a more 'scenic route'. We choose a small highway that traveled through the northern part of the state, rather than the tried and true freeway that brought us to our destination more quickly.
After what seemed like days (really only a few hours) of traveling 25 mph through all the small towns of Wisconsin, I was going crazy. I suggested we play the 'Name Game.' The game is simple enough. The first person says a name, i.e. 'Scott'. The next player has to say a name that starts with the letter which ends the previous name, i.e. 'Tracy'. The game continues like that...Yolanda, Aaron, Nicole, Emma, Angela, Austin, etc.
I told Scott that whatever name we ended on, not being able to think of another name after that, would be the name of our first child, girl or boy, it didn't matter. He agreed. :)
Well, we played that game through many towns. After a while, it gets difficult to come up with names that begin with 'A' because so many names end with 'A'. Scott was clever and called out the name 'Aichatou' (African name). I said 'Uma'. Then there was a pause....a very looooong pause. We were out of 'A' names. We racked our brains, trying to come up with another name, ANY name but Uma. Unfortunately, we couldn't think of one.
So, when we arrived at the camping site, and met up with my folks, we broke the news to them...their first grandchild, regardless of gender, would be named...Uma. They laughed then, they aren't laughing now.

Hey Angela & Scott, How fun and exciting! This is the greatest. I love the name thing, it is so the two of you. Just loving life, playing a game. No matter the baby's name, your love and anticipation for this little one will be known to him or her. Kathy
